マイクロソフトは
オペレーティングシステム「Windows」の最新版「Windows 8.1」を
2013年10月18日に発売すると発表しました。
Microsoft has announced that Windows 8.1 will be coming October 18th via the Windows Store and retail outlets and will be a free update for those who already have Windows 8 installed on their machines.

Windows 8ユーザーは、内蔵のアプリストア「Windows ストア」を経由して
無料でアップグレードできるそうです。
Windows 8.1で変わること
Windows 8で廃止されたスタートボタンが復活します。
使い慣れたボタンがなくなってここに対する文句はよくききましたからね。
起動時にデスクトップ画面を直接表示するよう選択できるようになったり
BingやSkyDriveとの統合がさらに強化されそうです。
買い替えする人を考慮して、Windows 8をインストールした端末には無料でアップグレードが提供されるようなので、今新しくパソコンを買おうと考えている自分にはありがたい。
